BIO:
Since his early days, Enric's interests have always been attached to artistic expression. Perhaps because of his upbringing in a middle class family of artists and artisans. Whatever the reason it is very evident that he is gifted. You can see it in all of his beautiful work.
Enric began receiving awards at the young age of 14. By 16 he was working in some of the most prestigious publicity and fashion studios in Barcelona. At 20 he had developed a variety of art disciplines like: illustration, paint, architecture, furniture design, logos, publicity campaigns, radio programs, radio advertising, cinema, fashion design and the basis of his inspiration, photography.
The rich art world of Barcelona gave Enric an opportunity to get close to the genious works of Dali, Picasso, Miro and Tapias. These great talents influenced Enric and his work.

Enric has traveled around the world, witnessing some of the most amazing artwork in history. Through these contacts he became aware that there was a lack of recognition of photography as a "pure" art. Either due to a lack of exclusivity in its original work or the interests of the "artistic world". Whatever the reason, Enric began his long journey to find the perfect formula to give the art of photography its place. His aim was to find a way that his photography works could be treated as unique works of art, difficult to forge.
After 20 exhaustive years, thousands of failures and destroyed photos, after uncountable hours of dedication, in 1996 he began to find a way. There was one thing he needed to reach the point that his Art was only limited by his imagination. Enric needed new technologies to develop. Finally, they did.

There was one thing he needed to reach the point that his Art was only limited by his imagination. Enric needed new technologies to develop. Finally, they did.
From his Studio located in the center of Barcelona, Spain, with his team, Enric continues to develop new ways of expression based on this new technique. He also continues to prepare new works using photos taken ten or fifteen years ago, created specifically for this purpose. These works of art are the result of a lifetime of hard work and dedication and are at last, ready to be shown. This new artistic way of expression mixes completely, absolutely and with perfect harmony all the plastic techniques with photography: carbon drawings, watercolour, oil, acrylics and digital sources. Different tools are used such as brushes, palette knife and airbrush.
Enric's works of art are unique and exclusive following the style of Enric Aromi-Masriera. Enric's hope is that his new works will open to other artists the chance to express themselves in a different way.
All of Enric's pieces are certified and all signed both in the front and at the back. A signed and numbered certification of origin and date of creation is also included and can be found on the back of each piece.

When in 1844 W.H. Fox-Talbot succeeded in obtaining the first photographic negative he wasn’t aware that photography, the discovery made by N. Niepce in 1816, was going to be to Art what the discovery of central perspective was in the Renaissance. This important technical discovery was to have decisive consequences, as in a way it stripped painting and art in general of one of their historical duties: the obligation of objectivity that was compulsory when representing reality.
This allowed painting, freed from such heavy weight and responsibility, to take a new way based on the search of its own specificity that opened new ways of expression, which developed during the 20th century. With the passing of time, what was born as a technique, obtained artistic status as proved in the great number of tendencies and movements that made it not only a way of expression but also a way of creation.
Aromi-Masriera belongs to a generation which has confronted Art in a free way and without prejudices which often impede evolution and development. For him, techniques, materials, aesthetic options etc… are different sides of the same coin called Art.
Following a complete education that led him to experiment in different artistic areas and with a vocation to investigate worthy of admiration, he comes to us as the creator of a new technique that allows him to fuse his two passions: painting and photography; together in a symbiosis that shows that not everything has been invented in Art, and that reflection and investigation are the two indispensable ingredients of creation. We have the proof in front of our eyes with a solid work, coherent, highly thought provoking, which introduces us to an artist who still has a lot to tell and give us. An artist who claims his place in 21st Century Art.
